- HYBRID – If you reside within 50 miles of Adtalem offices in Chicago, IL, Addison, IL, Columbia, MD, Minneapolis, MN, and Miramar, FL this role is hybrid, requiring office presence three days a week (Tue, Wed, Thu), with the rest of the workweek spent working from home.
- REMOTE – If you live over 50 miles from Adtalem offices in Chicago, IL, Addison, IL, Columbia, MD, Minneapolis, MN, and Miramar, FL, this role is remote. However, occasional office visits may be required based on business needs, with advance communication for such requests.
The Assistant Dean, MSN NP directs and provides leadership to faculty to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery of program courses and curricula in an environment and manner that achieves superior student outcomes. This includes but is not limited to helping to coordinate and implement retention and persistent initiatives, faculty coaching and evaluation, ensuring academic and operational compliance, and regularly collecting data for analysis, and reporting.
In this role you will:
- Ensure that program courses are staffed with qualified, trained, high-quality instructors. You will participate in the recruitment of faculty, initiate department requisition requests, and ensure that the Talent Acquisition team is aware of faculty recruitment needs.
- Conduct orientation for new faculty and develop, update and implement faculty orientation materials and processes as needed.
- Track faculty qualifications regarding education, certifications, and licensure, and ensure compliance before allowing faculty to teach.
- Supervise and evaluate assigned faculty, providing regular and timely feedback and coaching as needed.
- Prepare, assess, and communicate faculty and course performance and faculty qualification metrics to faculty, course leaders, and program leadership.
- Participate in preparing course and faculty schedules, including immersion schedules as needed, working with the faculty operations and course scheduling teams.
- Monitor and report on faculty workload.
- Monitor, aggregate and report weekly at-risk/persistence data.
- Prepare and provide ongoing faculty development and training to ensure consistent, high-quality faculty performance and implementation of university and program initiatives.
- Guide faculty regarding student concerns and escalations, academic integrity issues, student absences and performance concerns, assessment, and practicum and preceptor issues.
- Monitor and enforce faculty completion of expected duties.
- Collaborate with Student Services regarding student concerns.
- Serve as a role model and mentor for faculty and students in areas of academic excellence, customer service, collaboration, communication and professionalism.
- Solicit recommendations from faculty for academic budget.
- Ensure regular meetings of the faculty to facilitate communication and faculty participation in planning, implementing, and evaluating the curriculum.
- Assist with administrative duties associated with accreditation requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned and comply with all policies and standards.
- Graduate degree in the program field required,
- Two (2) years of experience in education, training, or staff development at the baccalaureate level or above.
- One (1) year of online teaching experience.
- Proficiency with online instructional technology applications and Microsoft Office suite. Proven ability to use a variety of technology applications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with evidence of strong interpersonal, organizational, time management, and conflict resolution skills.
- Previous leadership experience.
- Ability to interact with all levels: students, faculty, leadership, and staff.
- Strong customer service orientation and customer service skills.
- Ability to lead, direct, and advise faculty.
- In programs that require graduates to obtain licensure to practice, candidates must possess the license, and in programs that require graduates to obtain additional certification to practice, the certification is required.
In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $68,637.22 and $124,230.14. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
