How do I become an academic advisor?
To become an academic advisor, you'll usually need at least a bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, psychology, or a related field. Some roles may require a master’s. Experience in student services, teaching, or mentoring can strengthen your application. Academic advisors will guide students through course selection, semester planning, and problem-solving. Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills are essential.
