Job Description

Now Hiring: Student Learning Specialist – January Semester Start

Chamberlain University is seeking a dedicated Student Learning Specialist to join our team for the January semester. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong clinical background and simulation experience, passionate about supporting nursing students in their academic and professional journey.

Position Overview

In collaboration with academic partners, faculty, and staff, the Student Learning Specialist provides strategic academic reinforcement to students throughout their program and as they prepare for NCLEX-RN success. This includes individualized and group support, personalized remediation planning, and active involvement in clinical learning labs and simulated patient care experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Simulation & Lab Support

  • Facilitate simulation-based experiences (SBE) and labs, including equipment maintenance, supply management, setup, and cleanup
  • Develop and implement clinically based scenarios using high-fidelity patient simulators
  • Coordinate and supervise lab experiences to ensure alignment with course objectives
  • Staff open labs and provide individual oversight during practice and remediation of technical nursing skills

Academic Support

  • Demonstrate current, detailed knowledge of NCLEX-RN concepts and nursing practice
  • Assist in the creation of Next Generation NCLEX activities and workshops
  • Provide individual and group tutoring
  • Conduct outreach to students with at-risk referrals
  • Create and implement personalized remediation plans
  • Communicate and document student progress toward learning outcomes to academic leadership

Qualifications

Qualifications & Requirements – Student Learning Specialist

Education & Licensure

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (required)
  • Master’s Degree in Education or Nursing (preferred)
  • Current, unencumbered RN license (required)
  • BLS CPR certification (required)
  • BLS CPR instructor certification (required)
  • ACLS and/or PALS certification (preferred

Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in an academic environment supporting classroom instruction or specialized tutoring (preferred)

Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent communication skills across telephone, computer, and in-person interactions
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Exceptional attention to detail and proofreading skills
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Collaborative mindset and team-oriented attitude

Additional Information

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $49,199.33 and $86,253.75. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
