Are you passionate about nursing education and eager to make a difference? Chamberlain University is now accepting applications for our January semester and seeking enthusiastic nurses to join our campus-based Overland Park faculty team.

We are especially interested in individuals with:

  • strong clinical background
  • Experience teaching Fundamentals, Medical-Surgical, Health Assessment, and Critical Care
  • Simulation experience (preferred)

In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to teach in various settings and contribute to committee work within our nursing programs. Responsibilities

Evidence-Based Teaching & Learning

  • Implement the College’s philosophy, curriculum, and course objectives through diverse teaching methods.
  • Develop and revise course materials annually.
  • Deliver high-quality education independently.
  • Monitor clinical agencies and supervise nursing students.
  • Coordinate with clinical agencies and University departments.
  • Provide feedback and remediation to students.
  • Communicate agency and clinical policies clearly.

Professional Role Model

  • Serve as a positive role model for students.
  • Mentor new faculty and lead by example in professionalism and collaboration.

Commitment to Professional Nursing

  • Stay current through professional activities.
  • Contribute to University program development and evaluation.
  • Advise students academically.
  • Help shape policies on admission, progression, and graduation.
  • Support curriculum and teaching evaluations.
  • Recommend budgetary needs.

Leadership & Scholarship

  • Participate in University committees and accreditation efforts.
  • Serve as course coordinator or Subject Matter Expert (SME).
  • Demonstrate scholarly teaching through evidence-based practices.

Qualifications

Faculty Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Licensure

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing (required)*
  • Active professional nurse licensure (required)

*Education and experience must comply with state regulations and authorization requirements, which may include oversight by higher education boards and/or licensing boards across multiple states.

Professional Standards

Maintain current regulatory and practice credentials, as appropriate to course assignments Exhibit excellent communication skills, initiative, and sound judgment Demonstrate scholarship aligned with faculty rank expectations

Clinical & Teaching Experience

Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably with a background in Pediatrics Prior teaching experience preferred, with a demonstrated passion for education and flexibility to teach a variety of courses Experientially prepared to teach assigned courses


Additional Information

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $53,520.9 and $93,918.96. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
