Job Description

Opportunity at a Glance

The Student Success Coach appropriately manages programs, interventions, and relationships with students, faculty and colleagues to achieve a balanced and effective support system targeted to address identified risk factors for an assigned portfolio of locations or programs. The priority population is at-risk students throughout the student life cycle. The approach is to be evidenced based, resulting in gains in retention and graduation. The Student Success Coach plays a pivotal role in creating and sustaining a culture that advances student success. Reporting directly to the Associate Dean of Student Research Administration, the Student Success Coach will work with students, faculty and program leaders. Responsibilities

  • Coordination and facilitation of doctoral capstone process
  • Keeping accurate and highly-organized records of milestone completions and other capstone activities
  • Investigating incidents or issues reported by students and faculty, and advising on the best course of action
  • Monitoring and engaging in technical workflow of capstone process within a capstone management system
  • High level of customer service and support
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to interpret reported issues into actionable solutions
  • Provide personal and detailed technical support regarding the dissertation and doctoral study process through email, phone, or video conferencing
  • Detailed email guidance to students and faculty related to progress in the capstone research process
  • Specialized support for new faculty as they acclimate to Walden’s capstone systems and processes
  • Phone or video consultation with faculty for capstone management system and assisting students in making progress in the research process
  • Utilizing reports for proactive outreach to students and faculty for support in the research process
  • Pulling data and presenting reports related to capstone progress for university- and program-level leadership

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree. Required
  • 3 year's experience in customer service/student affairs/student advising or research support in a higher education setting. Preferred.
  • Experience with online learning or working with online learners. Required
  • Demonstrated experience working with learners who are facing a variety of life challenges.
  • Ability to effectively work in across functions in a matrix organization.

Additional Information

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $42661.58 and $77317.19. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
