Job Description

 Overview:

The position designs, gathers, analyzes, and reports on quality improvement and efficacy research supporting the development of a comprehensive institutional assessment program related to all aspects of undergraduate and graduate education at Chamberlain University. The position employs advanced statistical and predictive models and scorecards that provide actionable insights based on trend analyses to support the College’s vision, mission, and strategic initiatives. Under the supervision of the Senior Manager, Research & National Surveying, Office of IEAR, the Senior Research Analyst works collaboratively with various Chamberlain University teams to ensure accomplishments of reporting and research efforts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Identifies strategies and designs action plans for assessing, benchmarking, reporting, and communicating data trends that support and respond to the needs of the College.

- Works with the Senior Manager, Research & National Surveying, to develop protocols, processes, and targets for data collection and reporting mechanisms.

- Works with the Chamberlain Institutional Effectiveness team to create optimal data models for application and implementation.

- Develops assessment tools and procedures to ensure that there are no gaps between data collection practices and accreditation requirements.

- Ensures that meaningful assessments of all aspects of Chamberlain University are achieved through appropriate use of metrics and evaluation approaches leading to continuous improvement.

- Demonstrates expertise in managing and mining large, disparate data sets and applied both quantitative and qualitative methodologies to draw meaningful and valid insights.

- Designs systems for effective data and information flow between various University departments and the central Adtalem data cloud to enhance data collection processes.

- Apply advanced statistical modeling, transforming analytics into insights, and offer conclusions/recommendations based on key trends.

- Develops creative ways to explain results from big data sets and communicate results clearly.

- Display important data features visually that is both clear and compelling.

- Participates in establishing methodologies for use of evaluation results to improve operations.

- Prepares reports of data and analytic information to guide academic program decisions and interventions that improve academic execution and effectiveness to ultimately enhance student learning outcomes.

- Designs, implements, and evaluates institutional research projects that address critical academic needs and goals of the University.

- Serves as an expert to the University and shares best practices with respect to outcomes assessment, data modeling, and predictive analyses.

- Contributes to the development of the University organizational goals and strategic directions.

- Builds and maintains relationships with departments of the College to ensure that all evaluation activities are completed as specified.

- Establishes and maintains a mechanism for sharing of best practices for assessment and continuous improvement throughout the college.

- Participates in the development of innovative strategies to enhance continuous institutional evaluation that reflects trends in higher education.

- Completes other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

- Minimum of a PhD with a focus on educational research and evaluation in nursing or education-related field.

- Minimum of 5 years professional experience in educational research/related field strongly preferred.

- Expertise in research processes, including data collection, advanced statistical analyses, report writing, and development of presentations.

- Experience in survey design, administration, analyses, and reporting.

- Ability to present complex topics and analyses in easy to comprehend manner for key stakeholders.

- Demonstrates skills as a problem solver and thought leader; collaborates in a team environment.

- Excellent project management skills, demonstrating the ability to consistently deliver projects of high quality and excellent attention to detail; demonstrates ability to handle multiple projects in a high activity environment and meet specific deadlines.

- Outstanding ability to work independently; Possesses effective and consistent interpersonal, organizational, collaboration, conflict resolution, management, and organizational skills.

- Possess strong verbal, written, and telephone skills.

- Experience extracting data from student/faculty data platforms (i.e., Google Cloud Platform, ProScore, Banner). (Really want someone who is able to the Data we already Had. Mindy’s different platforms. Lot of our Power BI Reports are excel Raw Data files. We pull raw data from ProScore & Banner.

- Experience with data visualization tools (i.e., Power BI).

- Knowledge of developing custom applications and code in Excel, Access, and SQL preferred.

- Expertise in analysis of large data sets via SPSS advanced statistics software (current version)

- Expertise in designing, building, deploying and analyzing data via web-enabled survey software products (Qualtrics experience); expertise in Microsoft Office products.

 - Possesses the ability to effectively and consistently lead and motivate staff as assigned.


Additional Information

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $47766.34 and $86253.75. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
