Job Description

Ross University Clinical Skills Assessment (CSA) team is currently seeking a full time Teaching Assistant for remote work. This role will report to the Manager of Standardized Patient Program and the Director of the Clinical Skills Assessment.  

Only recent RUSM graduates are eligible for consideration
Teaching Assistants are expected to start on June 1, 2023, or afterwards
 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The ideal applicant should be able to engage, mentor, and teach a diverse student body, as well as, work closely and cohesively with other RUSM affiliated clinical instructors under the supervision of the Standardized patient manager. To this aim, he/she must possess excellent teaching, communication, organizational, interpersonal, and public speaking skills.

- Assist with CSA high stakes summative assessments by playing the patient role, providing documented tracking, grading, and feedback

- Assist with instruction of OSCE/standardized patient formative and summative exercises

 -Provide guidance on history-taking, write-ups, SOAP notes, design test questions and proctor exams
- Assist with other instructional activities, as assigned by Standardized Patient  Manager and Director of CSA
- Serve as mentors to a cohort of students, maintaining close communication with each student and providing guidance in all aspects of their performance

- Team up with Clinical Teaching Instructors staff to ensure that adequate needs, gaps, staffing, and logistics, ensuring optimum student experiences and backup coverage during residence interview season.
- Responsible for input and tracking of information associated with CSA data

- Other duties as assigned
 


Qualifications

Must be a recent graduate of Ross University School of Medicine
Must have an M.D. degree and completed all clinical rotations by April 30, 2023
Strong teaching skills and experience; or evidence of potential
Must work well on a team, show flexibility and desire for self-improvement
Excellent communication skills in English
Must be US citizen or legal resident

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $40450.78 and $66189.74. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
