Job Description

Adtalem Global Education seeks an accomplished and visionary leader to serve as the Vice President of Social Impact. Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Chief Communications & Corporate Affairs Officer, this executive will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive social impact strategy that advances Adtalem's mission of empowering students to achieve their goals, find success, and make inspiring contributions to our global community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a comprehensive social impact strategy aligned with Adtalem's mission, values, and business objectives.
  • Lead the development and execution of signature social impact initiatives focused on democratizing higher education, social determinants of health, health equity, and social and economic justice.
  • Align and integrate the Adtalem Foundation, the Empower Scholarship Fund, the Walden Center for Social Change, the Adtalem Political Action Committee, and the forthcoming Adtalem Research Institute under a cohesive impact strategy.
  • Build and manage strategic partnerships with nonprofits, government agencies, and other key stakeholders to amplify social impact.
  • Establish measurement frameworks and metrics to evaluate program effectiveness and communicate impact to stakeholders.
  • Oversee social impact reporting, including ESG disclosures and impact assessments.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to integrate social impact initiatives across the organization, garnering buy-in and alignment with internal leaders and stakeholders.
  • Partner with the Corporate Affairs team (Government Relations, Investor Relations, Alumni Relations and Global Communications) to align impact messaging with broader organizational priorities.
  • Partner with Human Resources and our extended leadership team to help enhance organizational health and strengthen our culture and employer value proposition, integrating a focus on social impact enterprise wide.
  • Manage the social impact team and budget while identifying opportunities for program expansion.
  • Serve as a thought leader and representative for Adtalem's social impact work in external forums.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 12+ years of relevant experience in social impact, corporate social responsibility, philanthropy, or related fields.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful social impact strategies at scale.
  • Strong understanding of current trends and best practices in corporate social impact.
  • Experience managing complex stakeholder relationships and building strategic partnerships.
  • Demonstrated ability to measure and communicate social impact outcomes.
  • Excellence in team leadership and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
  • Advanced degree in a relevant field (MBA, MPA, or similar).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the higher education or educational technology sector.
  • Track record of innovation in social impact program design.
  • Understanding of ESG frameworks and reporting requirements.
  • Experience managing significant philanthropic budgets.
  • Publication record or speaking experience on social impact topics.

Additional Information

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $188,000.00 and $340,000.00. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
