Job Description

The Training Specialist will focus on coordination and delivery of training for a variety of training programs for the institution with a focus on enrollment, advising, and customer care staff. The person assigned will gather training materials and resources, assemble a team of people who could be used as training resources and conduct training for new users and provide on-going support to existing users. With a focus on implementation, they will work closely with project managers, functional groups, business analysts and technical staff to implement solutions in support of business goals and objectives.

  • Coordinate, schedule and conduct training for new hires and current employees in enrollment and advising
  • Identify and assess training needs of staff by conferring with managers and stakeholders
  • Manages training to support any certification and development program as applicable 
  • Collaborates with leaders on the creation and implementation of policies, procedures, and processes by developing compliant training curriculum.
  • Produce training materials to support the instructional designers for in-house courses as appropriate.  Amend and revise materials as necessary, in order to adapt to changes that occur
  • Facilitate the execution of all training plans                             
  • Evaluate training effectiveness through continuous feedback from Enrollment and Advising teams.
  • Conduct new hire training and assist the Project Manager with the creation of a training plan for new hires.                   
  • Build relationships and rapport with local functional resources that are critical to the success of the project by communicating direction, plans and tasks to appropriate stakeholders and by maintaining customer relationships at the local level.
  • Works closely with relevant Subject Matter Experts and Leaders to ensure smooth implementation of training programs.
  • Works to identify and address obstacles that impact training effectiveness.
  • Tracks and documents completion of work plan activities by communicating project progress and issues to project management, especially those that could impact project resources, scheduling, scope, and delivery
  • Take a lead role facilitating change management efforts for specific projects and initiatives
  • Completes other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required
  • Experience with training and presenting (sales or customer service environment preferred)
  • Knowledge of current systems preferred
  • At least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Periodic travel may be required depending on needs of the business and scheduled in-person training sessions                                                                   

Additional Information

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $47,766.34 and $86,253.75. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
