Job Description

Overview:

Adtalem Global Education is seeking a passionate and driven sr. public relations specialist with extensive writing experience including but not limited to creating messaging, pitches, media lists, press releases, contributed articles, op-eds, blog posts and more. This position will develop and execute external communications and media relations to support business growth objectives by enhancing the image and reputation of Adtalem and its family of institutions. Reporting to the public relations manager, this position partners with internal and external stakeholders to create brand awareness, enhance brand reputation, and mitigate risk.

The Senior PR Specialist will also support the Global Communications team through media monitoring, KPI dashboards and other support services as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Develop timely public relations and communications content

- Create media lists in support of outreach efforts including pitching, media alerts, press releases, etc. -- Cultivate relevant, engaging content that elevates our brand and strengthens our reputation

- Partner with the corporate communications team to drive engagement and ensure consistency of messaging across channels and audiences.

- Incorporate and proliferate consistent brand messages across all communications initiatives
- Support PR manager and director, brand communications by drafting and/or editing pitches and other communications

- Manage daily monitoring report to key leaders across Adtalem, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of information shared

- Track relevant KPIs and evolve communications strategy to strengthen quarterly performance metrics.

- Completes other duties as assigned.
 


Qualifications

-Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism or a related field
- 3 years of experience in related positions
- Well-developed writing/journalistic, editing and project management skills
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office applications, media relations / media monitoring software, blog/newsroom platforms, and content management software
- Demonstrated leadership qualities and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Must be able to collaborate with a variety of colleagues across the organization, including leadership
- Strong organizational, logistical and planning skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks under tight deadlines while maintaining work quality

-Strong background in creating and implementing media pitches

Additional Information

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $59,923.09 and $108,334.92. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
