Job Description

Opportunity at a Glance

The Senior Director Creative Services leads the operations and development of content and creative assets that drive performance across the full funnel — from enrollment to application. This role ensures high-quality, on-brand creative aligned to strategic goals through efficient, technology-enabled workflows by leading the Creative Center of Excellence supporting five high-volume, higher-education brands.  

This inspirational leader lives and breathes process and efficiency and appreciates a test and learn model for optimization.  He/she knows how to foster a culture of creativity and infuses new technology and innovation into the team’s day to day.  



Responsibilities

  • Develop, optimize and manage workflows.
  • Assess cross institutional prioritization and resource allocation.
  • Establish and define best practices, guidelines, and quality benchmarks for the CoE's area of focus.
  • Track key metrics and ROI to evaluate the effectiveness of CoE initiatives and identify areas for improvement. .
  • Provide ongoing training and coaching to team members to ensure consistent application of workflows and best practices.
  • Partner successfully across the marketing organization to identify their specific needs and tailor CoE support accordingly.
  • Manages channel and content agency relationships.
  • Lead multidisciplinary creative teams (design, copywriting, production) supporting multiple brands
  • Manage creative operations team – traffic, campaign management
  • Oversees institution-specific account teams responsible for delivering on-brand, full funnel content for all five institutions.
  • Drive innovation in creative production, leveraging GenAI and automation tools to scale asset creation and personalization.
  • Pilot new marketing strategies and technologies within the CoE to create best-in-class efficiency, performance and execution.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree MBA preferred, or other advanced degree.
  • 10 years leading creative operations, in-house or agency required.  
  • Expertise in personalized content strategies powered by AI-driven automation.  
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, Agile or scrum preferred.
  • Proven senior leadership in content, creative services, or marketing communications — typically 15+ years of experience with at least 5 years leading multi-disciplinary creative teams.
  • Deep expertise in creative operations — you know how to design and optimize workflows, allocate resources effectively, and ensure consistency across multiple brands.
  • Ability to navigate matrixed organizations and enterprise strategy.
  • Hands-on experience producing multi-channel creative (digital, video, social, print, OOH).
  • A forward-thinking approach to technology in creative production — you’ve successfully integrated GenAI, automation, and personalization tools to scale content creation and boost efficiency.
  • Experience managing agency and vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring delivery against ambitious timelines.
  • Advanced proficiency with project management tools, workflow platforms, and marketing automation systems.
  • Strong collaborator who can influence senior stakeholders, rally teams around shared goals, and maintain momentum in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills — both written and verbal — with the ability to inspire through vision and clarity.
  • Travel requirements - 10%.

Additional Information

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $137,846.78 and $249,127.02. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
