Job Description

Opportunity at a Glance 
The position will establish and manage the competitive intelligence and market research function  for the institution, on behalf of the organization.  
 
Responsibilities 

  • Responsible for all phases of research design, including consulting with business partners to articulate research objectives, providing recommendations for appropriate research method, vendor selection (where applicable), design of data analysis plan, report writing, and presentation of findings to stakeholders. 

  • Identifies and communicates themes from survey comments to leadership. 

  • Develops and maintains library of marketing surveys and research studies. 

  • Develops evaluation methodologies and plans for new programs and other innovation initiatives. 

  • Manages research studies, including NPS, student satisfaction, and brand tracking studies. 

  • Ensures research efforts remain within approved research budget, timeline, and objectives. 

  • Independently leads research method recommendation directs analysis of research findings and presents findings to audiences spanning junior to executive level. 

  • Supports development of competitive intelligence function for the institution, including identification of key competitors and key topics. 

  • Completes other duties as assigned. 

  • Performs other duties as assigned 

  • Complies with all policies and standards 


Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s Degree in Business, Market Research, or a related quantitative discipline. (Required)
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on market research experience. (Required)
    • Proven track record in managing research projects from initiation to successful completion. (Required)
    • Experience programming surveys using Qualtrics or similar survey platforms. (Preferred)
    • Experience working in higher education and/or institutional research. (Preferred)
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. (Required)
    • Strong command of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies and statistical analysis. (Required)
    • Skilled in questionnaire development, sample design, tabulation planning, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Communication & Leadership:
    • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills, including experience presenting findings to diverse audiences.
    • Demonstrated research leadership with the ability to clearly communicate insights and recommendations.
    • Ability to translate complex research findings into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders at all organizational levels, including senior leadership.
  • Analytical & Organizational Abilities:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Capable of managing multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Information

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $49,199.33 and $86,253.75. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
