Job Description

The Scrum Master will facilitate and coordinate Agile Scrum processes within Adtalem, ensuring the company can work collaboratively and efficiently to deliver high-quality solutions.

The Scrum Master will work closely with the product development team to ensure that the work progresses on schedule, within budget, and to the desired level of quality. Additionally, the Scrum Master will serve as coach and mentor to the team – helping foster a culture of continuous improvement and ensuring that the team is meeting its objectives consistently.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies such as daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning, sprint review, and sprint retrospective.
  • Identify and troubleshoot obstacles that hinder the team’s progress.
  • Promote continuous improvement through retrospectives and feedback sessions.
  • Communicate status, risks and issues to stakeholders.
  • Track and analyze KPIs to ensure teams consistently deliver high-quality products and solutions on schedule.
  • Ensure team adherence to Scrum methodology and Agile principles.
  • Support team collaboration and foster an environment of open communication and continuous learning.
  • Coach and mentor team members in Agile practices to maximize productivity and effectiveness.
  • Assist the Product Owner with effective backlog management and refinement.
  • Facilitate cross-team coordination and collaboration when necessary.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • 3+ years of Scrum Master experience or other equivalent methodology 
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills.
  • General conceptual understanding of programming and DB querying
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to lead and facilitate Scrum ceremonies
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Prior knowledge of Agile project management tools, such as ADO, Jira or Trello
  • Deep understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and ability to tailor practices to team needs.
  • Ability to coach and mentor team members in Agile best practices.
  • Conflict resolution skills, with experience facilitating team alignment and collaboration.
  • Proficiency in Agile metrics and KPIs, including velocity, burn-down/up charts, and team productivity measures.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to manage shifting priorities and evolving requirements.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and maintain detailed records and repots
  • TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS - 10%

Additional Information

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $61720.78 and $111584.97. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
