Opportunity at a Glance


The Manager, Clery Compliance oversees Clery Act compliance within Enterprise Safety & Security as both an individual contributor/SME and a leader supporting business processes, training and communications. This role is responsible for development, maintenance, and revisions of Clery Act compliance components within Enterprise Safety & Security. This role is a subject matter expert who will act as a Clery Compliance subject matter expert to campuses and corporate offices.

Responsibilities

  • Custodian of record for all Clery-related records, including, but not limited to, crimes, fire, and disciplinary referral data.
  • Annually reviews Campus Security Authority list and updates as needed with Talent Management and other parties.
  • Oversees Daily Crime Logs compliance for all institutions.
  • Classifies all cases submitted to our third-party incident management system for Clery compliance.
  • Maintains up-to-date Clery geography maps for all locations.
  • Works with Enterprise Safety & Security, Student Services, Office or Equity and Access, and other responsible departments to ensure all incidents are properly designated for Clery compliance.
  • Requests crime statistics from Authorities Having Jurisdiction.
  • Work with Events Teams, Academic teams and local campus contacts to identify all non-campus geography for graduations or other events.
  • Works with various departments to ensure Clery crimes are properly addressed.
  • Assists stakeholders as needed in the preparation and submission of all Annual Security and Fire Safety Reports.
  • Ensures that all Campus Security Authorities are properly identified and trained.
  • Creates, distributes, and manages all Campus Clery checklists.
  • Conducts Clery Act presentations in person and virtually as needed to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Maintains the Clery Compliance shared mailbox.
  • Coordinates with Enterprise Safety & Security and Global Security Operations Center to ensure compliance with emergency notification and timely warning requirements of the Clery Act.
  • Partners with other departments to ensure proper retention schedules for Clery-related documents.
  • Leads all processes regarding our institutions’ Clery Act compliance program policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Subject Matter Expert for all Clery related issues for internal and external audits and inquiries.
  • Leads mitigation efforts of identified compliance deficiencies.
  • Maintains knowledge of pending changes to the Clery Act and related laws and regulations to determine their impact on our institutions.
  • Collaborates with department peers in developing the organization’s Clery Compliance Standards, including policies, training and utilizing external resources to ensure consistency of the plans and frameworks related to the department.
  • Sets goals for the enterprise and monitors activity to ensure goals are met.
  • Travel is a requirement.
  • Must have a positive attitude and support the team approach to management.
  • This position is a designated Campus Security Authority.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 3+ years experience in an educational environment required.
  • 3+ years Clery Compliance, process improvement & implementation required.
  • Must possess and demonstrate an ability to effectively communicate in English and possess outstanding overall communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong presentation and computer skills and superior working knowledge of Microsoft’s Office suite of products and Sharepoint.
  • Requires a great deal of tact and diplomacy, as well as a high degree of professional ethics, sensitivity to hardship, and extreme sensitivity to confidential data and delicate personal issues.
  • The role requires strong partnering and project management with business stakeholders across the organization to drive process improvement delivery through exemplary process design/improvement/management skills using proven best practice techniques and methodologies.
  • Policy creation and project management experience.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions with minimal supervision and direction.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to obtain a passport required.
  • Clery Compliance Officer Certification through NACCOP preferred.

Additional Information

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $51,962 and $93,919. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
