- HYBRID – If you reside within 50 miles of Adtalem offices in Chicago, IL, Addison, IL, Columbia, MD, Minneapolis, MN, and Miramar, FL this role is hybrid, requiring office presence three days a week (Tue, Wed, Thu), with the rest of the workweek spent working from home.
- REMOTE – If you live over 50 miles from Adtalem offices in Chicago, IL, Addison, IL, Columbia, MD, Minneapolis, MN, and Miramar, FL, this role is remote. However, occasional office visits may be required based on business needs, with advance communication for such requests.
Opportunity at a Glance
The Manager of Academic Success—Academic Integrity will report to the Dean of Student Affairs and will facilitate resolution of escalated academic integrity and conduct inquiries and support the university’s policies and procedures around generative artificial intelligence, the academic integrity appeal hearing panel, and data analytics to inform continuous improvement and student academic integrity education.
Responsibilities
- Advise staff and students on Walden’s Code of Conduct policies and processes and make recommendations for revisions as necessary based on new research, technologies, and industry best practices.
- Update the university’s academic integrity trainings and provide webinars to supplement training content.
- Facilitate university community of practice meetings to collaborate on academic integrity education and best practices.
- Provide consultation to academic leadership on serious Code of Conduct matters.
- Develop proactive approaches to promoting a university wide culture of academic honesty and restorative justice.
- Support academic departments with generative artificial intelligence literacy and its intersection with academic integrity literacy.
- Track, analyze and report the university’s conduct records for internal and external use.
- Manage the academic integrity hearing panel.
- Collaborate with students, academic leadership, faculty and staff to resolve student complaints and grievances.
- Gather and analyze information needed by legal to support external complaint resolution.
- Gather and analyze information needed by the Vice Provosts and Provost to make Provost appeal determinations.
- Manage code of conduct, student affairs, provost appeals and ombuds services email roll accounts daily as needed.
- Support the department’s oversight of the university petition process.
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Complies with all policies and standards
- Earned master's in higher education, counseling or related field.
- Academic integrity and student conduct experience.
- Experience with Salesforce, Banner, Power BI and SharePoint Preferred
- Experience using Turnitin or other plagiarism detection software. Preferred
- Experience working with confidential information. Required
- 5 years’ experience in higher education Required.
- 3 years project management experience Required.
- 3 years’ experience in distant learning Preferred
- Dispute resolution experience.
- Commitment to advocating for the learning and development needs of students earning their degrees in a distance learning environment.
- Excellent communication, team participation, team building, and human relation skills.
- Self-starter demonstrating thoroughness and follow-up.
- Strong organizational skills with the capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work with individuals from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds in a collaborative manner.
- Ability to creatively solve problems.
- Ability to manage data/information and use for decision making on a scalable basis.
- Ability to write effectively in both business and academic styles.
In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $68,637.22 and $124,230.14. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
