Job Description

Opportunity at a Glance
The Coordinator, Field Experience is a full-time core faculty member and will focus on coordinating student field experience progress and development. The coordinator will report to the Director of Field Experience and work closely with academic leadership, faculty, Field Education Coordinators, program directors, academic advising, and field experience site supervisors.

Responsibilities

  • The successful candidate will join a dynamic team of counselors, and be centrally involved in supporting students in preparing and applying for their field experience across the masters counseling programs.
  • Coordinate with the Director of Field Experience, Field Education Coordinators, and Director of Field Education to assist all graduate students who require field experience.
  • Uphold the standards developed for field experience.
  • Serve as Committee Chair for reviewing quarterly filed experience applications.
  • Manage and organize the quarterly field experience application review procedures.
  • Screen faculty and student concerns based on level of intervention required (3 level).
  • Coordinate completion of field experience application materials.
  • Assist students in resolving problems arising out of field experience.
  • Coordinate with faculty to remediate low level issues.
  • Direct faculty and site supervisors as needed for low level concerns.
  • Coordinate with the Director of Field Experience and Field Experience Support Team for moderate-high concern levels.
  • Track and report on state licensure requirements and new legislation. Serve as the designee of the field experience director, as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Field Experience, Field Education Coordinators, and Director of Field Education to coordinate a system to assist students with finding a field placement site.
  • Monitor the implementation of policies and procedures related to field experience and determine expectations to them.
  • Assume initiative in working with the Director of Field Experience, Field Education Coordinators, and Field Education Director to develop policies and proceduares where they are lacking or require revision Work with the Director of Field Experience, Field Education Coordinators, and Director of Field Education to develop a process for submitting field experience documents.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards

Qualifications

  • Must possess a bachelor’s degree, preferably in the health or human services area.
  • Must possess a master’s degree, health related field preferred.
  • RN license preferred. 
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, written and verbal communication, detail-oriented, multitasking, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent customer services skills. 
  • Excellent time management skills with an ability to set and meet deadlines.
  • Creative, innovative, and strategic thinking as well as the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to independently work with faculty and graduate students at a distance.
  • Ability to anticipate future trends and problems and plan for them accordingly. 
  • Ability to learn Walden’s administrative database and software systems.
  • Successful experience working in a team setting. 
  • Experience in the area of academic or other student advising is preferred.
  • Experience in an online distance-learning environment is preferred.
  • Experience working with graduate students in an educational environment is preferred. 
  • Demonstrate proficiency in operating Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

Additional Information

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $18.15 and $32.86. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
