Opportunity at a Glance


The Events Manager is responsible for developing, planning, and executing engagement events for Adtalem Global Education and its institutions. In this role, you will work as a member of our events team in an environment that values collaboration, flexibility, innovation, and diverse perspectives. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Events, the manager will collaborate on the event strategy and work with various functional areas including, but not limited to, commencement ceremonies, celebration events, webinars, receptions and more. As an Events Manager, you’ll need to have a solid interest in event operations and strategy, event marketing, process management, research, and general technology, as this role will require you to amplify Adtalem’s Health message and brand awareness. You’ll need excellent interpersonal and written communication skills and proven success planning and executing in-person and virtual events. You should also have a desire to grow and evolve the events to ensure maximum customer engagement and ROI. This will require the development of best practices and processes and keeping up to date on event trends and new approaches.

Responsibilities

**THIS IS A HYBRID ROLE**

  • Works closely with the Senior Manager, Events to efficiently and successfully execute university events; Manages room blocks and organizes group travel and events in North America; assist in the selection and management of vendors; leads the event registration and reporting process; serves as liaison with venue and on-site support staff; monitors execution and provides contingency/backup support as required.
  • Must be comfortable working independently and learning quickly; Must thrive within a dynamic, creative environment with multiple due dates and project deliverables.
  • Working with the different institutional teams establish a consistent event experience across all Adtalem institutions to be engaging and interactive that reflects and celebrates the unique culture of the students and alumni.
  • Manages the registration process for event attendees to ensure all eligible groups are captured and their information is updated as needed.
  • Oversee events measurement, including the design and operation of relevant dashboards and reports to forecast, measure, analyze and report on the impact of events.
  • Researches, evaluates, and identifies vendors and facilities; manages communications and relationships with external partners; coordinates billing and payment for services rendered.
  • Assist in the management of internal stakeholder meetings; manage roles, responsibilities, and program deadlines for each event.
  • Work closely with vertical and institutions functional areas including admissions, marketing, alumni, communications, operations, and academic teams to achieve strategic goals through event operations and marketing initiatives.
  • Bring a proactive, positive view to continually review, analyze, and report on data that impacts our events to enable better decisions on content, promotion, etc.
  • Contribute to, implement, and optimize the customer and user event marketing plans to include email promotions and communications, paid media, and web content.
  • Manage internal communications and enablement that promotes the registration to and growth of our events.
  • Travel nationwide, with the possibility of occasional international travel, and work occasional nights and weekends to support events.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or a relevant field of study or 7+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Min 5+ years of relevant work experience in event strategy, planning and realization – including direct experience with vendor negotiations and relationship-building, financial planning and expense control, event planning and travel planning.
  • Demonstrated success in event or project management and proven knowledge of industry tools like Cvent, Certain, On24, Zoom, GoToWebinar, etc. platforms.
  • Proficient and skilled user of the Microsoft office suite and tools – including Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills with an outstanding attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage time and handle multiple priorities to achieve high-quality deliverables.
  • Skilled negotiator with proven experience finding creative ways to do more with less; record of staying on budget.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced and highly cross-functional organization.
  • Proven experience and success in planning and executing digital events.
  • Willingness to mentor, lead, and problem-solve across teams.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally and the ability to work without direct supervision.

Additional Information

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $59,923 and $108,334. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
