Job Description

Opportunity at a Glance
The Director of Training & Development is responsible for the overall strategy, design, development, and delivery of training programs, resources, and communications for graduate counselors and enrollment operations support teams at American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine (AUC), Ross University School of Medicine (RUSM), and Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine (RUSVM). This role ensures that training programs align with organizational goals, industry standards, and the specific needs of enrollment teams to drive successful student recruitment. The Director will champion the creation of self-led training materials, curate and manage comprehensive knowledge bases, and oversee the development of effective scripts to empower teams and enhance performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a scalable, data-driven training strategy that aligns with recruitment objectives, incorporates self-led learning options, and leverages adult learning principles.
  • Curriculum Design and Content Development: Lead the design of engaging curriculum and development of high-quality content (text, graphical, multimedia) for various training modalities (knowledge bases, job aids, modules, self-paced courses) across medical and veterinary schools.
  • Knowledge Base Management: Create, curate, and maintain comprehensive knowledge bases accessible to all team members, ensuring content is accurate, up-to-date, and easily searchable.
  • Script Development:  Oversee the development of effective scripts for various communication scenarios (phone calls, emails, presentations) to ensure consistent messaging and successful interactions with prospective students.
  • Information Architecture: Ensure intuitive navigation and retrieval of training materials and knowledge base content through clear organization, metadata structures, and integration with AI-supported tools.
  • Data-Driven Optimization: Analyze call data, feedback, and performance metrics to continuously refine content, scripts, and training strategies for improved outcomes.
  • Team Leadership: Manage a team of training professionals, fostering collaboration and innovation to deliver effective training programs and resources.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with admissions, faculty, marketing, IT, and quality assurance teams to ensure alignment and maximize the impact of training initiatives.
  • External Engagement:  Build relationships with industry experts and organizations to enhance training resources and represent the organization at conferences.
  • Budget and Resource Management:  Oversee training budgets and resources to ensure efficient allocation and maximum return on investment.
  • Onboarding and Continuous Improvement:  Create a comprehensive onboarding experience for new hires and foster a culture of continuous learning and development, emphasizing self-led learning opportunities.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Adult Education, Instructional Design, or related field (required); Master's Degree (preferred).
  • Experience: 5+ years in training and development, with a focus on adult learning, content creation, knowledge management, and script development. Experience in healthcare or educational settings preferred.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Strong strategic thinking, analytical abilities, and data-driven decision-making.
    • Exceptional communication (written/verbal) and presentation skills.
    • Proficiency in learning management systems (LMS), design tools (e.g., Figma), knowledge base platforms, and Microsoft 365 suite.
    • Expertise in information architecture, knowledge base design, content optimization, and script development.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively, prioritize tasks, and work in a fast-paced environment.
    • Understanding of medical or veterinary school admissions processes is a plus.
  • Previous Management/Supervisory experience required
  • Requires the ability to work a flexible schedule, weekends, and evenings to accommodate student, departmental and company’s needs

Additional Information

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $97253.99 and $175761.85. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
