Job Description

The Associate Director (AD) of Admission is a critical manager in the process of converting prospective student candidates to students. Reporting directly into the Director of Institutional Enrollment, the ADA leads a team of Administrative Candidate Care Coordinators and partners closely with the Admission Advisor team in the key processes of interview and application preparation and assembling all necessary data for transition to St. Kitts. A brand ambassador and Candidate Service expert, speed, efficiency, organization and process orientation are the key competencies needed for success in both managing the team and servicing the institution. In partnership with the Director of Enrollment, the ADA is responsible for the implementation of student recruitment strategies and shares in responsibility for converting high-quality inquiries from interview through application through day one on Island. As a manager, the ADA models customer service, trains and updates the team, and puts forward process improvement recommendations to the Director and Admissions leader to ensure we are always evaluating and improving our current methods of candidate care delivery.

Responsibilities

  • In partnership with the Director of Enrollment, manages and staffs a team of high performing Admission Candidate Care Coordinators and implements all aspects of our performance management process—goal setting, coaching, 1-1’s, performance development and management and creates a pipeline of future talent for roles within the Admissions or Operations teams.
  • Assists in the development, direction and coordination of team activities in working with students
  • In conjunction with the Director of Enrollment, ensures that objectives, plans, budgets, policies, practices and actions are consistent with the overall direction and strategy for the Admissions Office
  • Manages admissions processes by overseeing the Admissions Care Coordinators/Ambassadors in making sure files are processed timely, accurately, and within compliance guidelines
  • Manages conversion processes by overseeing the Admission Care Coordinators/Ambassadors team, ensuring that timelines and expectations are met.
  • Works with campus teams to align with Housing, Registrar, Student Finance, and Student Life to align all new student activities.
  • Reaches out to prospective students, answering all questions and providing information about necessary document requirements
  • Communicates effectively in all responses and coaches team to do the same with excellence.
  • Provides summary to Admissions Committee for a decision; communicates decisions with students.
  • Oversees scholarship communications (awarding of scholarships, maintains scholarship data and reporting)
  • Utilizes discretion and experience to offer continuous improvement in our admissions operations processes.
  • Model for TEACH values and is inspired by support our mission and students in their journey
  • Completes other duties as assigned.

  • Complies with all policies and standards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business required or other directly relevant discipline required.
  • 5+ years of successful operations or admission experience Required.
  • Experience in the higher education industry and advanced degree Preferred.
  • Proven ability to establish strong relationships with customers, preferably within education. Motivated, ambitious and energetic, with a service mindset.
  • Track record of success in managing a high performing team—preferably in customer service or operations.
  • Able to work and lead in a fast-paced organization.
  • Strong communication skills and composure—able to resolve questions conflict and can coach others to do the same.
  • Responsive, detailed in orientation—looks for the better way including leveraging technology to improve service and process for prospective student candidates.
  • Must have a valid passport, a valid driver's license, reliable and appropriate transportation, a clear driving record and a flexible schedule as weekend travel is required.
  • Flexible and adaptable, recognized as a team player who enjoys collaboration and sharing successes.
  • Computer proficiency utilizing MS Office, database proficiency required.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary in support of student operations.

Additional Information

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $75,000.00 and $85,000.00. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
