This Director of Information Technology (IT), provides leadership, planning and support of information technology services and personnel. You are responsible for managing operational controls, service quality, change management and the information technology activities that support the academic and business needs of American University of the Caribbean & Adtalem Global Education. In this role, he/she leads cross-functional efforts for advancing operational and academic improvements.
Management and delivery of IT strategies, objectives, goals and projects. You are accountable for the deployment and support of assigned technology solutions, appropriate utilization of designated IT resources, and enforcement of procedures, guidelines and processes.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the University's systems including design and implementation, application management, disaster recovery, inventory management and maintenance of the data center.
- Set annual performance targets for IT operations and monitor the performance of the entire department through established metrics and scorecards.
- Design, deliver and own a weekly operational scorecard.
- Serve as primary lead in building customer relations and communications
- Work with various IT groups to centralize budgeting and resource allocation for projects.
- Frequently communicate status, progress, issues and results to the business leadership, user community and IT management.
- Participate as a member of AUC’s Dean’s Council.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, related field. Required
- Master's Degree Technology, Project Management or Business related Preferred
- Five (5) plus years years of IT leadership experience overseeing multiple IT functions.
- Seven (7) plus years year experience in implementing and managing specific IT functions.
- Seven (7) plus years years of varied overall IT experience including IT operations, DR/BCP, and IT services.
- Experience managing large projects, creating and defining complex operational processes and procedures.
- Moves toward the vision with determination & decisive action. Structures the journey so others can follow.
- Builds inclusive well-rounded team by leveraging perspectives and experiences. Recognizes diverse points of view and opinions of home office, field and others.
- Demonstrates a balanced approach to decision-making change leadership. Considers issues and solves problems from the standpoint of others.
