Job Description

Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Admissions, the Assistant Director of Admissions-Canada will primarily provide leadership for recruitment activities in Canada. This position is responsible for recruiting, raising brand awareness, and developing and nurturing relationships with pre-medical student influencers. This position will assist in the execution of the business plan, the control of expenses, and other functions as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Highly knowledgeable about the RUSM mission, history, curriculum, academic policies, outcomes, campuses and faculty.
  • Works closely with the Associate Director of Admissions, identifies gaps in the prospective student and applicant plan and collaborates with Marketing and Communications to fill these gaps.
  • Ensures all data contained in the CRM (Salesforce) is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Networks, builds and develops professional relationships with influencer audiences, such as (but not limited to) pre-medical advisors, RUSM alumni and RUSM current students to elevate the brand and increase consideration through presentations and stakeholder visits.
  • Accompanies pre-med advisors on visits to campus as assigned.
  • Travels overseas to campus as assigned to maintain and continually improve understanding of medical education and, specifically, our unique operations.
  • Conducts dynamic presentations/interviews to explain academic opportunities
  • Attends key conferences and events for the purpose of establishing inquiry generation contacts and to present RUSM's MD program.
  • Plans and executes appropriate number and mix of recruitment activities in territory
  • In conjunction with management, ensures that objectives, plans, budgets, policies, practices and actions are consistent with the overall plan for the admissions office.
  • Applies TEACH Values in the completion of all job assignments.
  • Adheres to laws and regulations governing student recruitment activities as well as the Adtalem Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.
  • Maintains full knowledge of RUSM’s MD program so as to be able to effectively communicate the benefits of RUSM to others.
  • Travel 35%-40% throughout Canada with majority being in Ontario
  • Evening/weekend hours required for various recruitment events (approx. 1/month)
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Required
  • 4 years of customer-service, admissions experience preferred
  • Recruitment experience in non-US markets Strongly preferred
  • Strong work ethic, high energy, and a committed team player with excellent leadership capabilities
  • Experience working independently in a remote capacity, managing a territory is preferred
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment and to be a self-starter
  • Highly motivated, self-driven, result-oriented, strategic, logical and methodical thinker.
  • Must be able to inspire loyalty and trust and must be flexible and adaptable.
  • Must have the ability to make ethical decisions, doing what is always best for the students as well as RUSM.
  • Must be willing/able to travel 35-40%
