Opportunity at a Glance

Under limited supervision from the Payroll Supervisor, the Payroll Administrator is responsible for the administration of the company's time and attendance and payroll systems. The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of the payroll and related client service, including recordkeeping and reporting. This position provides accounting and project management support to all locations.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures the accuracy of the payroll records by auditing the database for status changes, address changes, tax withholdings, PTO accruals, new hire, STD and terminations.
  • Ensures that all timesheets for assigned locations are created, approved, and completed prior to the export from iEmployee to ADP by running the “Timesheet Receipt Report”.
  • Reviews payroll variance reports and ensures that corrections are made prior to the release of payroll.
  • Audits and balances gross to net calculation.
  • Processes spreadsheets for Visiting Professors and Adjunct Faculty.
  • Researches, calculates and coordinates with the employee, supervisor and HR on manual payments.
  • Prepares and maintains related payroll records and reports.
  • Documents workflow and work procedures.
  • Cross-trains designated back-up payroll administer.
  • Researches and resolves problems, perform scheduled activities, and liaison with service providers.
  • Prepares and maintains standard and ad hoc reports, queries, and conduct appropriate audits to ensure data integrity.
  • Prepares and maintains accurate records.
  • Ensures internal control for the accurate disbursements of wages and other payments in accordance with internal policies and procedures and federal regulations.
  • Assists in implementing SOX and regulation changes that affect the payroll set-ups.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma preferred and some college preferred.
  • Experience working with time and attendance, payroll and HRMS systems required.
  • IEmployee and ADP Enterprise preferred.
  • Two years minimum in (UKG) UltiPro.
  • Must have experience with database applications and Report smith writing software required. 
  • Full knowledge of payroll and accounting practices and principles required.
  • Knowledge of state and federal employment laws relating to key areas of responsibility required.
  • Three years of current multi-state payroll experience preferred.
  • Ability to do research on the Internet.
  • Must be a team player who is also capable of working independently.
  • Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with all levels of employees.
  • Exhibits excellent customer service.
  • Must be able to work with highly sensitive information in a confidential manner.
  • Skills must include 10 key calculator by touch, accurate keyboard data entry, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) preferred.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred.

Additional Information

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $16.65 and $27.36. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
