RUSVM

Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine (RUSVM) offers a unique program of training on the island of St. Kitts in the Caribbean. A cutting-edge curriculum, with innovative use of technologies and simulations, provides the best possible training for tomorrow’s veterinarians. Students benefit from seven semesters of integrated preclinical and clinical studies at our St Kitts campus, and one year of clinical training at our affiliate veterinary teaching hospitals in the United States, Canada, Europe and Australia.

Our ongoing research focuses on key issues strategically relevant to One Health in tropical and developing countries and includes zoonotic diseases, food safety and security, environmental health, and conservation medicine. We prioritize recruitment of talented faculty and are now seeking a key new member of our team to join us as we develop new programs to best prepare our graduates to face the global opportunities and challenges of veterinary medicine in the 21st century.


Job Description

Continuously prioritize excellent student service as a fundamental goal and attribute of the student experience team.
• Perform tasks necessary to support the Director of University Mental Health Services in accomplishing goals and objectives of the department including assessing and improving operational effectiveness in pursuit of student satisfaction, educational excellence, and budgetary optimization.
• Performs general clerical duties as assigned, including filing, photocopying, printing, distributing and posting Counseling Center flyers, as well as maintaining department files and databases.
• Maintains confidentiality in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
• Coordinates and arranges meetings, prepares agendas, and reserves and prepares facilities.
• Answers the telephone, screens calls, manages the general Counseling Center email account, takes messages, and forwards calls and emails as appropriate.
• Schedules counseling appointments, coordinates telehealth appointments via Zoom, as well as gathers all necessary intake, feedback, and other ongoing client data forms.
• Has the ability to answer routine questions and resolve routine issues.
• Follows Counseling Center protocol in response to a student in crisis
• Prepares documents such as notices, memorandums, purchase orders, correspondence, schedules, notes, faxes, and minutes.
• Orders and distributes office supplies to Counseling Center staff.
• Assists with updating Counseling Center Canvas page.
• Orders routine medical supplies for the University Health Services department monthly via Simms
• Inputs student immunization data received from Housing/Immigration into the (Medicat) Electronic Medical Records for University Health Services
• Participate in professional organizations as appropriate and serves on university committees as assigned and/or interested.
• Contributes positively to the work environment of RUSVM.
• Performs other job-related duties as mutually agreed upon or assigned.


Qualifications

At least two year’s experience secretarial or closely related clerical support experience required.
• PC skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and internet applications. Must become proficient in Titanium Software and Medicat Software.
• Good organizational, customer service and data entry skills.
• Excellent communications skills
• An Associate Degree in Office Management preferred.
