The Academic Coordinator is a full-time faculty member who reports to an Associate Dean I and works closely with the relevant School and College academic advising and administrative staffs, and faculty to address a variety of academic and student issues.

Responsibilities

  • Course instruction, course content development, and other curricular activities as needed.
  • Managing administrative functions appropriate to their assignments (this is 50% of the role)
  • Mentoring of students in research for PhD degrees and oversight of the dissertation completion sequences.
  • Participation in university doctoral residencies, both virtual and in-person, where appropriate to a program
  • Participation in the Blended Academic Year in Residence (BAYR) component of the program, which requires travel to Minneapolis, MN at least twice per year
  • Engagement in scholarship, service on university and college/program committees, and initiatives as needed.
  • Supervision, support, and development of Contributing Faculty for the program
  • Must be reasonably accessible for students and faculty inside and outside the classroom
  • Manage student-faculty and student-peer conflicts
  • Engage in student development as student comportment issues arise

Other Duties and Responsibilities

  • May perform other duties and responsibilities that management may deem necessary from time to time.
  • Complies with all policies and standards for the university and program
  • This role requires individuals to travel to Minnesota at least twice a year. 

Qualifications

  • PhD/PsyD in Clinical Psychology or PhD/PsyD in Counseling Psychology.
  • Active license as a Clinical Psychologist
  • A significant record of intellectual and professional contributions to the field, including professional publications and conference presentations.
  • 3-5 years teaching experience at the doctoral level, preferably online
  • Supervising student research at the doctoral level
  • Excellent leadership, communication, team participation, and human relation skills.
  • Commitment to advocating for the learning and development needs of students earning their degrees in a distance learning environment.
  • Ability to mentor and motivate adult learners in a distance-education environment.
  • Ability to work with adult learners with variable skill levels, various learning styles as well as diverse cultural and professional backgrounds.

Additional Information

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $68,637.22 and $124,230.14. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
