Using AI Responsibly in the Adtalem Hiring Process
At Adtalem, we understand that using AI for job applications is becoming a key part of the job process. These tools can be helpful in sparking ideas, organizing information, or practicing for interviews.
But just as we teach our students the value of integrity and authenticity, we want to see the real you throughout our hiring process. That’s why we’re sharing guidance on how to use AI responsibly when you apply for roles with us.
Why We’re Providing These Guidelines
As a global education provider, Adtalem is committed to expanding access and improving outcomes in healthcare education. Fairness and transparency are central to that mission, both for our students and for those who join our teams.
We know AI can be a powerful tool and help people save time, but it can also blur the line between authentic and artificial. We want every applicant to feel confident presenting their own skills, experiences, and voice.
Using AI Responsibly: Three Key Principles
Enhance, Don’t Replace
• Use AI to refine ideas or improve clarity, not to generate full responses. Your unique achievements and voice matter most. If you’ve already written your resume or cover letter, a good use case for AI could be to make them more succinct and relevant to the job application.
Be Authentic
• We value your personal story and perspective. AI can help you express it, but it can’t create it for you. Share your experiences in your own words; we always recommend including quantifiable achievements where possible, too.
Prepare, Don’t Perform
• It’s fine to use AI to brainstorm potential interview questions or research our company. But when it comes time to interview or complete assessments, we want to hear directly from you.
Do’s and Don’ts of AI in Your Application
Do:
• Use AI to brainstorm or outline your resume and cover letter.
• Research Adtalem’s mission, culture, and programs.
• Practice interview questions with AI to build confidence.
Don’t:
• Submit AI-generated content without editing it to reflect your own experience.
• Use AI to complete assignments or simulations that measure your skills.
• Exaggerate or invent qualifications or experiences with the help of AI.
