Opportunity at a Glance
Walden University’s Office of Academic Support and Instructional Services is seeking an entry-level Website Specialist to join our team. As a Web Specialist, you will help us administer, maintain, and update our academic websites, student catalog, and student handbook. You will work closely with our team of content developers and website designers to maintain engaging, accessible, and responsive websites.
The Web Specialist is responsible for website content updates, website maintenance, and administration. You will provide support for SEO, analytics, user experience testing, and web design and development. The successful candidate must possess great attention to detail, with strong communication and organizational skills, and must exhibit exceptional follow-through. You must be able to work independently and take action to achieve goals and objectives, while remaining productive and focused in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

Responsibilities
Support internal and external stakeholders across departments with content updates that align with the university’s content expectations and web accessibility standards.
Perform maintenance activities to ensure optimal website performance; duties include resolving broken links, updating related systems and services, and other website maintenance duties.
Review analytics reports, identify trends, and make recommendations to improve traffic and usa.
Work with website designers and developers to create engaging and instructive websites that are responsive and accessible to all users.
Support our website team in conducting user experience tests.
Maintain documentation for websites and related products and services..
Performs other duties as assigned
- Complies with all policies and standards
- Associates Degree Required in related field. Equivalent certifications such as W3Schools certifications or equivalent experience may be considered.
- Bachelor's Degree Preferred
- 0-2 years of Web Development Experience
- Proficiency in HTML and CSS Required
- Proficiency in JavaScript Preferred
- Proficiency in WCAG 2.1 Preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Familiar with WCAG 2.1, mobile responsive design, cross-browser functionality, and other core web development concepts.
- Excellent visual, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Outstanding attention to detail; must be thorough and precise in their work.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to thrive working with a team.
- Ability to adapt and pick up new techniques and technology; have a growth mindset.
- Ability to multi-task, remain calm under pressure, and adapt to rapid change.
In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $47,766.34 and $86,253.75. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
