Job Description

Job Summary:

The VP, Investor Relations is a strategic leader responsible for the development of a holistic investor relations strategy, targeting, and outreach. This role also leads the organization’s strategy for targeting investors that would align with Adtalem’s objectives, as well as creating and presenting a consistently applied and compelling investment message to the investor community on behalf of Adtalem.  S/He will build trust and credibility with the investment community and bring the voice of the community to strategic discussions with the executive team. This person would monitor and present to management the opinions of the investor community regarding Adtalem’s performance and formulate how best to respond. S/He would serve as the primary point of contact for the investment community proactively interacting with analysts and investors to understand market expectations and financial projections.

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a key advisor to the CEO, CFO, and Board on the investor relations strategy. 
  • Develops and maintains a strategic investor relations plan focused on high-level engagement with both current and potential investors, as well as optimizing management’s time spent on investor relations activities. 
  • Ensure the development of supporting documents, such as analyst consensus models, company valuation data, investor presentations for conferences and road shows, quarterly earnings scripts, Q&A for senior leaders and all press releases related to the financial community. 
  • Performs a comprehensive competitive analysis, including financial metrics and differentiation. 
  • Develops and monitors performance metrics for the investor relations function. 
  • Establishes the optimum type and mix of shareholders and creates that mix through a variety of targeting initiatives. 
  • Manages the investor relations portion of the Adtalem web site. 
  • Monitors research reports on the company and the industry and provides analytical summaries for senior management and the Board. 
  • Cultivates and maintains relationships with and serves as the key point of contact for the financial media and investor community. 
  • Provides feedback to management regarding the investor community's perception of the, its corporate strategy, and their view of its financial results. Develops a plan of action based on perception, as appropriate. 
  • Proactively engage new potential investors on an ongoing basis. 
  • Prepares senior leaders for meetings with the investment community and provides feedback/post event analysis. 
  • Serves as a member of Adtalem’s Disclosure Committee, providing analysis and recommendations to improve disclosures and related processes

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Finance, Business or Accounting.  MBA preferred. 
  • 15+ years of Investor Relations experience with a publicly traded company, with at least five years in a management position. 
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skill set; ability to take large volumes of information and present it in a clear and concise manner to senior management, the Board and the investor community. 
  • Understanding of financial modeling techniques and valuation methods used by analysts and investors. 
  • Knowledge of SEC laws and securities disclosure and filing requirements. 
  • Must be a strong leader with the ability to work independently. 
  • Strong project management skills. 
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills. 

Additional Information

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $159,328.72 and $288,104.20. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
