Overview:

The senior manager, crisis communications and reputation management reports to the director of corporate communications and is responsible for leading the development of crisis communications for Adtalem Global Education and its family of institutions. The position will be responsible for developing proactive reputation management campaign strategies to elevate brand awareness and reputation as well as diffusing negative news and/or category situations, developing reactive media statements and mitigating risk through development and execution of a proactive crisis playbook.

The role will lead crisis response efforts for internal and external audiences including coordinating recommendations and messaging with the enterprise crisis communications agency. The position will actively participate and support the management team to ensure the quality of communications with internal and external stakeholders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 - Manages and provides input into a comprehensive crisis communications strategy/playbook to reinforce image and reputation with all stakeholders – shareholders, media, students and alumni, and colleagues

- Works closely with and manages day-to-day relationship with crisis agency team

- Implements coordinated communications and provides oversight of all employee and student communications in a crisis to ensure consistency of messaging and alignment with defined business objectives

-Supports senior leadership by drafting and/or editing communications as needed.

- Analyzes goals and implements programs and activities to enhance long and short-term communications programs to shape brand affinity; develops and maintains quality standards

-Leads coordinated efforts to identify, update, and share out key program outcomes and performance indicators to ensure compliance and brand consistency

- Conducts ongoing and annual assessments of communications effectiveness at the institution level as it relates to brand reputation, awareness and achieving communications goals.

-Completes other duties as assigned.

- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications or related field
- 5 years of experience in crisis communications, corporate communications, public relations, reputation management or related fields
- Experience partnering with external agency and/or vendor management
- Experience working with various levels of management
- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of audiences and constituencies
- Strategic thinker with experience formulating multi-faceted communications plans, recommending optimal channel usage, timing and cadence of communications and gaining buy-in from functional area leads and project stakeholders
- Mastery of using communication to influence change within an organization
- Expertise in managing multiple initiatives simultaneously; ability to collaborate with a variety of colleagues across Adtalem
- Knowledge of social media execution a plus
- Must possess exceptional business writing, training, communication, organizational and presentation skills
 

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $77996.84 and $140851.54. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
