Job Description

The Department of Clinical Sciences at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine (RUSVM) invites applications for 1 full-time faculty position in Small Animal Medicine beginning immediately. Rank will be dependent upon qualifications but can be at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Candidates must have a DVM degree or equivalent and advanced residency training in small animal medicine. Preference will be given to those who are diplomates of the ACVIM, ECVIM, or ABVP but candidates who are  board-eligible may be considered. A PhD is preferred but not required.

•  Provide challenging, student-focused, delivery of 13 credits in small animal medicine utilizing multi-modal learning and interactive labs within a collaborative climate. 
•  Commitment to student success and continuous learning through formative and summative assessment and curricular modification to ensure success of the students that is measurable. 
•  Knowledge of teaching and learning strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners. 
•  Willingness to share talents with a sense of humor, and a hopeful, caring, and open attitude.


What is the structure and culture of the team like? 
We are a small school with a diverse and proactive team focused on collaboration and providing a student and colleague centric environment of care and respect. You will join a team of 3 other small animal internists and a diverse team of professionals and will work under the guidance of the Division and Department Heads.

  • DVM or other international equivalent required.
  • Residency trained/board-eligible or Board certification with ACVIM, ECVIM, ABVP (companion animal focus) or other equivalent highly desired.
  • A desire to teach and interact with veterinary students is essential.
  • A commitment to curricular advancements in didactic and laboratory settings is strongly desired
  • Experience of teaching students in English is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work with others in a collegial team atmosphere.
