Job Description

The Senior Research Analyst position designs, conducts, analyzes, evaluates, and disseminates academic research and program evaluation studies supporting the development of a comprehensive research agenda related to all aspects of undergraduate and graduate education at Chamberlain University. This position participates in the development and submission of grant proposals, employs advanced statistical and predictive models, and creates visuals that provide actionable insights, and participates in writing and disseminating manuscripts to support the University’s vision, mission, and strategic initiatives. Under the supervision of the Senior Manager, Research, Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Research, the Senior Research Analyst works collaboratively with various Chamberlain University teams to ensure accomplishments of reporting and research efforts.

  • Participates in the design and execution of a research agenda aligned with the University’s strategic goals, focusing on assessing academic effectiveness and student outcomes.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of robust research protocols for data collection, management, and reporting, in collaboration with the Senior Manager, Research.
  • Participates in the development of literature reviews and demonstrates skills in critical analyses of prior research studies.
  • Develops and validates innovative new assessment/evaluation tools and methodologies to ensure alignment with research objectives.
  • Conducts comprehensive program evaluations of institutional initiatives using appropriate metrics and advanced analytical approaches to drive continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrates expertise in managing and mining large, disparate data sets and applied both quantitative and qualitative methodologies to draw meaningful and valid insights.
  • Utilizes advanced statistical modeling and analytical techniques to transform data into actionable insights and provide conclusions/recommendations.
  • Translates complex research findings into clear, compelling narratives and visualizations for diverse audiences, ensuring effective communication of results.
  • Participates in establishing research-driven methodologies for leveraging evaluation results to improve operations.
  • Participates in the development of comprehensive research reports and provides analytical insights to guide academic program decisions and interventions to ultimately enhance student learning outcomes.
  • Participates in the design, implementation, and evaluation of academic research projects that address critical academic needs and goals of the University.
  • Serves as an institutional expert on research proposal development, literature reviews, outcomes assessment, data modeling, and predictive analytics, disseminating best practices across the University.
  • Contributes to the development of the University organizational goals and strategic directions.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with departments of the University to ensure that all research and evaluation activities are completed as specified.
  • Establishes and maintains mechanisms for sharing best practices in educational research, assessment, and continuous improvement throughout the University.
  • Participates in the development of innovative strategies to enhance innovative research strategies that reflect emerging trends in higher education.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree required. PhD strongly preferred with a focus on educational research and evaluation in nursing, education, or healthcare-related field
  • Five (5) years market research experience required.
  • Five (5) years of professional experience in educational research or related quantitative discipline strongly preferred.
  • If the candidate possesses their doctorate, must demonstrate success in securing external funding or small grants for research projects as well as publishing peer-reviewed scholarly work and/or presenting at academic conferences
  • Expertise in research processes, including data collection, advanced statistical analyses, report writing, and development of presentations
  • Expertise in the design, programming, and deploying of surveys via web-enabled survey software products (preferably Qualtrics)
  • Expertise in analysis of large data sets via SPSS advanced statistics software (current version)
  • Ability to present complex topics and analyses in an easy to comprehend manner for key stakeholders
  • Demonstrates skills as a problem solver and thought leader; collaborates in a team environment
  • Excellent project management skills, demonstrating the ability to consistently deliver projects of high quality and excellent attention to detail; demonstrates ability to handle multiple projects in a high activity environment and meet specific deadlines
  • Outstanding ability to work independently; possesses effective and consistent interpersonal, organizational, collaboration, conflict resolution, management, and organizational skills
  • Possess strong verbal and written skills
  • Experience with data visualization tools (i.e., Power BI)
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office products
  • Experience working effectively in a team environment (both in person and online colleagues)
  • Possesses the ability to lead and motivate staff as assigned effectively and consistently

Additional Information

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $49,199.33 and $86,253.75. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
