Opportunity at a Glance

The Lead/Sr Manager, Conferences and Events, Adtalem is responsible for development and execution of a comprehensive event strategy to achieve business results and maximize internal and external event value for Chamberlain and Walden Commencement ceremonies and other events as assigned.

The Lead/Sr Manager, Conferences and Events will lead a team of event professionals who develop and execute events that inform, engage and inspire current and prospective students, colleagues, alumni, strategic partners, the healthcare industry and the community and position events for revenue generation and/or thought leadership opportunities. The Sr. Manager has the unique opportunity to create meaningful engagement with graduates at the culmination of their academic journey. By implementing event planning best practices across three in-person commencements for 5,000-10,000 participants, the Sr. Manager can enrich excellent logistics while also implementing new, innovative enhancements to celebrate graduates.


Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive event strategy, in support of ATGE and its institution strategies, that results in the successful execution of commencement ceremonies and events for various audiences including current and prospective, students, alumni, and partners.

• Lead and motivate a team of event professionals in planning, coordinating, and delivering highly effective events.

• Lead production planning for commencement ceremonies to include, managing production and audiovisual vendors, managing production specifications, and production budgets.

• Work cross-functionally to maximize the workflow between the student journey and marketing to launch event engagement in support of business goals.

• Establish consistent KPIs for event measurement and outcomes across the Adtalem Health vertical. Analyze and report on meeting and event outcomes, including post-event-surveys and summary of expenses to ensure continuous improvement and ongoing efficiency.

• Partner with corporate marketing and communications to ensure campaign execution and event promotion.

• Research, analyze and streamline event systems and operations by using technologies and tools to reduce costs and improve efficiencies. Leverage enterprise-wide agreements when applicable.

• Develop and manage budgets to ensure revenue and expenses are kept within established parameters. Continually review and evaluate spend and reporting.

• Develop and implement team processes, best practices, and reporting to ensure all events and contracts are within legal department guidelines, within the best interest of the organization and deliver on our brand promise.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Complies with all policies and standards.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality, event management, marketing, or a related field required.
  • 7 years of experience in successful event planning required.
  • 5 years of experience managing teams required.
  • Experience managing service providers and 3rd party vendors required.
  • Experience with reporting and analysis of marketing and admissions tactics and data to identify areas for improvement required.
  • Experience with multiple webinar platforms preferred.
  • Knowledge of industry trends into contract negotiations, hospitality, production, and event site selection.
  • Strong time management and written and oral communication skills with the ability to work in fast-paced environment.
  • Track record of managing multiple events over multiple year timelines that generate effective ROI for the business.
  • Proven ability to work, influence and gain support in matrixed or cross-functional companies or teams.
  • Ability to travel within the U.S. and internationally when required for internal meetings, conferences, and customer events.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Proven ability with strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Strong budget management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Strong team player.

 


Additional Information

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $77,996 and $140,851. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
