In our U.S. locations, we operate on a hybrid work model with three in-office days and two remote days per week. Starting Q1 2025, we will transition to a four-day in-office schedule, Monday–Thursday. This in-office time fosters creativity, innovation, communication, and stronger team relationships, supporting both individual and organizational success.
 


Job Description

This role will serve as a champion for students, actively promoting a cohesive student experience. This position is responsible for directing the development and implementation of retention marketing strategies, creating a personalized, seamless omnichannel experience. Using data to develop strategic initiatives to promote student achievement, this position will help facilitate student progression and increased graduation rates. 

The Senior Director is also responsible for managing the retention marketing staff and agency partners and working in cooperation with various functional teams to achieve results.

  • Promotes resources and solutions to enable student success.
  • Creates best-in-class programs and campaigns that provide high quality student experiences.  Identifies challenges and obstacles within the student journey and connects with resources to reduce friction.
  • Directs the operations of the Retention Marketing team.   Guides and directs the development of the creative work to organization's advertising and marketing standards.
  • Uses data analytics and establishes/monitors KPIs to measure the effectiveness of student retention initiatives and regularly reports on progress to senior management
  • Oversees all retention marketing communications including branding, print, digital, social media, and collateral materials.
  • Develops annual planning process and leads the overall development of retention marketing plans and strategy.
  • Leads the identification and development of new  technology and service offerings, and is responsible for maintaining and managing the existing retention marketing services, technology and systems.
  • Ensures the positioning is articulated in a clear and consistent manner in all communication vehicles.
  • Selects, trains, motivates and develops retention marketing staff and builds strong productive relationships with key functional areas
  • Ensures all communications are coordinated, supports retention marketing objectives and are an effective expenditure of resources.
  • Tracks, measures and evaluates the results of retention marketing programs in order to recommend and execute changes to the plan.
  • Collaborate with consumer insights and direct retention marketing tests.  Translates insights into meaningful strategies and tactics and implements as needed.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years marketing experience, ideally in consumer engagement/customer relationship management is required
  • 5+ years’ experience with the supervision and management of direct reports within a department is required.
  • 2+ years experience with strategic marketing – leading consumer testing.
  • Experience in an academic environment with an emphasis on implementing continuous improvement suggestions to the student experience is preferred
  • Experience/exposure in implementing product or brand marketing structure and approach in an organization is preferred           
  • Demonstrated ability to transfer marketing skills to broad range of products or services (and ultimately higher education)
  • Demonstrated ability to work in matrix environment where coordination and integration is critical
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
  • Extremely strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams to achieve desired outcomes

Additional Information

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $137,846.78 and $249,127.02. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
