Job Description

Walden is seeking a skilled and dedicated NP Supervisor to join our team. As an NP Supervisor, you will play a critical role in supporting preceptors and students during their practicums, ensuring a smooth learning experience.

Responsibilities

  • Practicum Issue Resolution: Collaborate with preceptors and students to address any challenges that may arise during their practicum, providing guidance and support to foster successful learning outcomes.
  • Practicum Hours and Reports Analysis: Monitor and analyze practicum hours, logs, and reports to ensure compliance with program requirements and identify areas for improvement.
  • Meditrek Faculty Monitoring: Utilize Meditrek to supervise and assist faculty members, ensuring they are effectively utilizing the platform and addressing any AI-related issues.
  • Practicum Oversight: Follow and track practicums until completion, ensuring that students meet all necessary requirements and objectives.
  • PIPs Follow-Up: Oversee students on Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) to support their progress and ensure successful completion.
  • Clinical Faculty Orientation: Conduct orientation sessions for clinical faculty to ensure they are well-prepared to guide and mentor students during their practicum.
  • Midterm Conference Assistance: Assist in organizing and conducting midterm conference calls, addressing any concerns related to student performance.
  • Student Performance Support: Address any additional issues related to student performance that may arise, providing necessary guidance and intervention as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards

Qualifications

  • Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing, with NP certification.
  • Three or more years of teaching experience at the degree level of the program.
  • Candidates should possess a significant record of intellectual and professional contributions to the field.
  • Commitment to advocating for the learning and development needs of students earning their degrees in a distance learning environment.
  • Teaching, advising, and mentoring; commitment to the promotion of applied research and the recruitment and development of a diverse faculty; excellent leadership, communication, team, and human relations skills.
  • Experience with distance learning is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of practicum requirements and evaluation processes.
  • Proficiency in Meditrek or similar healthcare platforms.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with faculty, preceptors, and students.
  • Demonstrated organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint), zip software, and Adobe Acrobat is required as well as reliable Internet access as well as alternate access in cases where primary access becomes unavailable.
  • Walden University provides a company-owned laptop for use by core faculty, and they are expected to use this laptop according to the Corporate Computing policy as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

Additional Information

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $68,637.22 and $124,230.14 annually. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
