This is a hybrid position requiring office presence three days a week (Tue, Wed, Thu), at Adtalem offices in Chicago, IL, Addison, IL, Columbia, MD, Minneapolis, MN, or Miramar, FL, with the rest of the workweek spent working from home.
The primary purpose of this position is to lead and support the licensing processes, providing information on applicable regulation/guidelines to ATGE institutions in a manner that maintains 100% state authorization compliance. Responsibilities include ensuring that all ATGE institutions are in compliance with applicable state requirements and to serve as an advisor on policies and practices across the institutional state authorization spectrum in such a way that a culture of good standing is endemic.
Responsibilities
- Provides review and oversight to the licensing team and relevant institutional colleagues, including consultative guidance regarding applications, reviewing and approving reports as necessary and overseeing the compilation of supporting documentation; this includes all necessary tracking documentation designed to meet deadlines.
- Manages the processes for approval of campus and online programs including documentation to support changes, timing of the submission, initial and subsequent visit(s) and responses.
- In collaboration with the editor/writer, oversees preparation and submission of applications, self-studies and other reports and conducts related activities as needed to support the approval, licensing and compliance processes to meet all regulatory requirements as it relates to state authorization.
- Participates in and supports the development and implementation of administrative and operational policies that are consistent with state regulatory requirements.
- Keeps abreast of emerging trends and on-going issues in licensing, ensuring that institutional representatives and senior leaders are kept informed through timely analysis and communication.
- Represents ATGE with licensing associations. Develops and maintains relationships with other regulatory professionals, contributing to relevant professional organizations through workshops, presentations and task groups as it becomes necessary.
- Leads licensing team in a manner consistent with ATGE TEACH values designed to help build a superior team that maintains state authorization compliance.
- Completes other duties as assigned and complies with all policies and standards.
- Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of five years work experience in a federal/state regulated environment, preferable in higher education licensing or accreditation with an agency or another school system.
- Excellent writer, problem solver, independent worker, and collaborator
- Demonstrated ability to establish and develop positive relationships with state agency personnel.
- Strong critical thinking skills to assess state requirements that may not be explicit.
- Strong interpersonal, organization, writing, editing, and computer skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Ability to supervise and train staff.
- Ability to learn quickly, adapt to change, and lead change.
- Writing samples required.
In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $68,637.22 and $124,230.14. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
