  • REMOTE – If you live over 50 miles from Adtalem offices in Chicago, IL, Addison, IL, Columbia, MD, Minneapolis, MN, and Miramar, FL, this role is remote. However, occasional office visits may be required based on business needs, with advance communication for such requests.

 


Job Description

The Facilities Manager will be the point of contact responsible for facilities management, assisting the Senior Facilities Manager and the Corporate Real Estate team with the delivery of quality facility management services. This role will coordinate and manage tenant/client requirements and service delivery to ensure financial, compliance, asset management, and personnel/contractor leadership satisfaction. The facilities manager will work with the outsourced FM company.

 

  • Relationship Management.
  • Support the Area Manager in the implementation of short and long-term projects for the client project.
  • Develop and implement innovative programs, processes, and procedures that reduce short and long-term operating costs and increase productivity by working closely with the Facility Management Lead and the client.
  • Oversee the appropriate monthly/quarterly/annual reporting appropriate for the client.
  • Oversee the development and management of the capital and expense budgets by interfacing closely with the client representative.
  • Program Analysis and Development.
  • Develop and implement innovative programs, and processes and produce procedures that reduce short and long-term operating costs and increase productivity by working closely with the Facility Management Lead and the client.
  • Support the Area Manager in the implementation of short and long-term projects for the client project.
  • Develop monthly/quarterly variance reporting on all operating budgets for each property on a timely basis.
  • Assist with the development and implement the annual management plan for the buildings within the area.
  • Managing building and equipment maintenance schedules in collaboration with EMCOR staff.
  • Read and review leases and requirements, and interface with landlords.
  • Working with Executives, Vendors, and subleased tenants.
  • Work with the outsourced Facilities Management company to ensure efficient and effective daily operations.
  • Partner with site DOC (specific locations) to ensure building management needs are met.
  • Work with ESS to promote safety within the building(s).
  • Managing equipment and supply needs, including furniture, telecommunications, kitchen appliances, office equipment and supplies, and climate control.
  • Approve project maintenance expenses per outsourced FM company.
  • Serve as FM lead for Postal Services and Compliance.
  • Documenting processes and keeping maintenance records.
  • Lead FM special projects – Decom, remodel, etc. (assigned by Facilities Manager).
  • Supervise vendor performance during normal and off hours including weekends when necessary.
  • Oversee multiple facilities with different functions.
  • Matrix manage both technical and administrative staff
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or business required or equivalent work experience in Facilities Management with management/technical emphasis required and Masters Degree preferred.
  • Any Facilities certifications desirable.
  • Ten (10) plus year's of industry experience required either in the corporate environment, third-party service provider, or as a consultant.
  • Strong organizational and management.
  • Strong interpersonal and supervisory skills.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • High level of personnel leadership and development.
  • Knowledge of real estate, telecommunications, furniture, accounting, and building systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office, and MS Share Point. 

Additional Information

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $70,696.34 and $124,230.14. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
