Opportunity at a Glance
Adtalem is seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Transformation to join its Transformation Office. In this high-impact role, you will work across Adtalem’s enterprise and its five institutions to lead and implement strategic growth initiatives. You’ll serve as a critical connector, driving progress, facilitating alignment, and ensuring operational rigor across functions and institutions.
This role demands strong leadership, project-based experience, and the ability to move quickly and effectively within a matrixed environment. You’ll collaborate with internal teams across all levels and functional areas, including Marketing, Technology, Finance, HR, Legal, Enrollment, Student Services, and Faculty Operations, as well as external partners, to enable sustainable, measurable business improvements.
Responsibilities
- Lead and drive operational excellence and process improvement initiatives that support Adtalem’s growth strategy.
- Serve as a trusted advisor and coach to cross-functional teams, supporting ideation, planning, implementation, performance tracking, and issue resolution.
- Collaborate across reporting lines to remove barriers, maintain momentum, and escalate issues when needed to ensure timely outcomes.
- Deliver clear, data-informed recommendations and updates to stakeholders through well-structured presentations, reports, and verbal communication.
- Champion communication and training efforts related to transformation activities, including toolkits, workflows, systems, and meeting cadences.
- Engage external stakeholders to align strategic priorities and long-term program success.
- Partner with institutional leaders to drive accountability for results, particularly revenue, profitability, and performance improvements.
- Prepare and deliver communications, updates, and resources for both internal and external audiences.
- Other duties as assigned in support of enterprise transformation.
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of operational leadership experience or management consulting experience with cross-functional influence.
- Proven ability to drive strategic initiatives in complex, fast-paced environments.
- Demonstrated success leading multi-stakeholder programs and influencing at all levels of an organization.
- Strong business acumen and ability to develop insights from data.
- Experience working within regulated industries, education or healthcare sectors preferred.
In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $100171.61 and $175761.85. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
