  • REMOTE – If you live over 50 miles from Adtalem offices in Chicago, IL, Addison, IL, Columbia, MD, Minneapolis, MN, and Miramar, FL, this role is remote. However, occasional office visits may be required based on business needs, with advance communication for such requests.

 


Job Description

Opportunity at a Glance
This position is responsible for the preparation of quarterly and annual tax accounting, including compliance with both US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) requirements, as well as maintaining underlying workpapers and documentation. This position is responsible for global tax planning and support for due diligence, integration, and discontinued operations for acquisitions and divestitures. This position is responsible for advising Finance and Treasury on deployment of cash globally. This position is responsible for directing the preparation and filing of federal and international income tax returns globally.

Responsibilities

  • Manage preparation of the global quarterly and annual tax provision, as well as non-GAAP reporting and SEC reporting requirements.
  • Manage the external audit of the global tax provision.
  • Preparation of carve out financial statements and tax accounting for discontinued operations related to divestitures.
  • Develop and maintain SOX matrix and ensure compliance with all internal controls.
  • Manage global cash balances and repatriation.
  • Assist in global tax planning/structuring.
  • Assist in due diligence, tax planning, integration for mergers and acquisitions.
  • Manage global transfer pricing documentation including BEPS requirements.
  • Manage the U.S. federal tax return including all international forms.
  • Monitor and implement federal and international tax legislation.
  • Manage non U.S. taxes including tax return filings, tax incentive agreements, and economic substance requirements.
  • Participates in the development, design and implementation of tax systems and technology.
  • Work closely with Accounting, Treasury, and FP&A to ensure accurate information is maintained for tax reporting and forecasting.
  • Manages a team including hiring, managing performance, and training.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business or Accounting Required or
  • Master's Degree in Taxation Required
  • 8+ years of progressively responsible tax experience Required and
  • 3+ years in a management position Required
  • Must be a strong leader with the ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • PC skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, database applications and tax software products
  • Certified Public Accountant Preferred

Additional Information

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $97,253.99 and $175,761.85. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
