In our U.S. locations, we operate on a hybrid work model with three in-office days and two remote days per week. Starting Q1 2025, we will transition to a four-day in-office schedule, Monday–Thursday. This in-office time fosters creativity, innovation, communication, and stronger team relationships, supporting both individual and organizational success.
You will play a key role in supporting the creation and continuous improvement of health sciences curricula, contributing to processes related to teaching, learning, and assessment to help meet professional, accreditation, and regulatory standards based on the best available evidence. In collaboration with multiple stakeholders, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of high-quality courses that align with student and faculty needs, adapt to changing expectations, and achieve course and program outcomes. You will assist in coordinating resources to help ensure courses are consistent, well-designed, and supported by effective materials, technologies, and pedagogies. Acting as a curriculum resource and subject-matter partner, you will support initiatives, promote evaluation, and contribute to the assessment of curriculum outcomes. You will work closely with faculty, administration, clinical education, academic success, faculty development, library services, instructional designers, educational technology experts, and accreditation & regulatory colleagues across Adtalem and Chamberlain University to promote the efficiency and effectiveness of curriculum development and the timely implementation of innovative, evidence-based courses and curricula.
Responsibilities:
Project Management
- Supports comprehensive goals and project plan for each course being developed.
- Manages multiple course development projects while monitoring, measuring and reporting on progress to ensure courses are delivered on time and with the highest level of quality and innovation.
- Identifies and engages appropriate faculty SMEs in the development of courses
- Provides regular updates to Curriculum leader regarding status of courses being developed
- Identifies and resolves potential barriers to project timeline.
- Participates in final stage quality assurance procedures for courses through scheduled review and maintenance.
Assessment
- Uses best practices and current research to design appropriate assessments into every course that evaluates student learning, course outcomes, and how the course contributes to program outcomes.
- Analyzes multiple data sources related to curriculum/courses and interprets and synthesizes data to lead appropriate improvements.
- Conducts/engages in research in consultation with external teams on curriculum, teaching, and learning assessment.
Curriculum Development & Course Design
- Participates in course development and improvement to include key activities, timelines and resource requirements needed to achieve objectives while adhering to an appropriate systematic development process and timeline.
- Maintains curriculum maps and levels the following curricular elements: Pedagogical approach, and learning assessment to appropriate professional and regulatory standards and assures consistency.
- Writes assigned course content within required timeframes with minimal oversight
Leadership
- Maintains programmatic accreditation requirements in relation to curricula.
- Maintains currency in practice and curriculum knowledge (via literature, research trends and changes/developments in healthcare).
Qualifications & Preferred Experience
- Master’s degree required; doctoral degree preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in curriculum and course development, with a strong foundation in instructional design across online, blended, and onsite modalities
- Experience in learning outcomes assessment and program evaluation (preferred across all delivery formats)
- CHES (Certified Health Education Specialist) certification preferred
- Experience developing content in health science disciplines preferred
Skills & Competencies
- Demonstrated use of active learning strategies and innovative teaching technologies in prior instructional roles
- Strong knowledge of educational and instructional theories applicable to diverse teaching and learning modalities
- Proven ability to lead complex projects to successful outcomes while adhering to budget constraints
- Effective collaboration and leadership through strong influencing and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in current techniques and tools for curriculum design, development, and delivery
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and presentation tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify issues and implement effective solutions
- Understanding of the regulatory environment in higher education and nursing education
- Ability to engage with stakeholders at all organizational levels and thrive in a fast-paced, initiative-driven environment
- Demonstrated competence in using technology for virtual meetings, project management, and training delivery
- Ability to work independently and productively in a remote setting
- Proven capacity to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously while maintaining high-quality outcomes
- Strong team orientation and consistent demonstration of the organization’s TEACH values
- Exceptional writing skills for developing high-quality, engaging content for student learning
