Job Description

​​​​​​The Business Analyst is responsible for all phases of marketing and enrollment process. Areas of research include, but are not limited to, prospects, current students and alumni as well as environment and consumer journey. This position is expected to bring the consumer perspective to assist in building marketing and enrollment initiatives that create positive brand perceptions and increased consideration, while also assisting in product-related decision making. Critical skills required for this position include: Market Research, Project Management, Analytical Thinking, Creativity, Problem-Solving, Teamwork and Communication. This position reports to the Manager, Consumer Insights.

  • Supports the annual budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning process.
  • Supports the monthly close, financial reporting and management reporting process.
  • Provides analytical decision support, including financial analysis, program profitability analysis, cost variance analysis and capital expenditure justification.
  • Works collaboratively with other institutions/functional areas (e.g. accounting, marketing, academic operations, business intelligence, and data science) to assist with enhancing business processes, internal controls and reporting.
  • Produce reporting deliverables that leverage compelling data visualization and a story-driven approach.
  • Manages multiple projects and priorities independently to support multiple internal clients.
  • Supports the development of presentations for institutional/functional leadership, board of directors/boards of trustees.
  • Identifies process improvement opportunities.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Market Research, Social Sciences or related field.
  • 3+ years in market research or consumer insights with proven ability to independently execute research projects from start to finish that deliver quality research insights.
  • Experience with both primary and secondary research.
  • Broad understanding of a wide range of research methods (quantitative and qualitative) and the appropriate application of these methods.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with developing models.
  • Knowledge of SalesForce administration and reporting is highly preferred
  • Preferred experience developing BI reports and Dashboards in Power BI
  • Preferred understanding of BI technologies, including security, portal settings, data connection settings, refresh frequencies, interaction with data sources, etc.
  • Preferred SQL experience with Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS).
  • Strong visualization skills with proven ability to utilize the full functionality of Power BI or similar BI tools.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills required.
  • Excellent communication skills. Must be able to effectively communicate and present findings.
  • Strong customer service skills. Must be service-oriented and provide tailored research and reporting to different groups of users based on their needs in a timely fashion.

Additional Information

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $51,962.03 and $93,918.96. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
