We are seeking primarily Industry Professionals to share their knowledge and experience with undergraduate and graduate students in a variety of fields.   

Responsibilities

  • Develops and provides students with an approved Adtalem Global Education syllabus that follows a template which includes the terminal course objectives.
  • Organizes, prepares, and regularly revises and update all course materials.
  • Uses appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software, including Websites, e-mail, and online discussions for preparing the course and making it accessible to students.
  • Models effective oral and written communications that engage the students, provide clarity, and improve student learning.
  • Sets clear expectations for the course by publishing course terminal objectives, assignment/examinations dates, and weight the distribution of various evaluation categories.
  • Ensures that the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives.
  • Demonstrates consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams, and provide timely feedback to students.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.

NR-509 Advanced Physical Assessment - This course expands the knowledge of health assessment principles specific to the role of the APN. The student will develop assessment techniques related to history and physical examination of clients across the lifespan, including psychiatric-mental health and related supportive assessment. Student will explore, analyze, apply and evaluate these principles in the classroom setting. This course includes approximately 25 hours of lab practicing physical assessment skills using both a virtual and on-ground learning environment. A remote hands-on physical examination check off will also occur in the course. The student will submit a video recording to complete this assignment. Additionally, an immersion skills lab will occur in this course. This requires the student to visit the on-ground Chamberlain designated site offering the immersion lab. The entire immersion is approximately 11 hours of lab time. If any portion of the immersion is missed, the total practice time in the course must still be at least 25 hours. The student is responsible for completing and certifying at least 25 hours practicing physical assessment skills in the course. The remote physical examination check-off and the immersion lab are graded as pass/fail and are not factored into the course GPA. Students must pass each of these in order to pass the course and progress in the program. If either are failed the course grade will revert to a failing grade (F).


Qualifications

  • MSN and DNP (or PhD in nursing degree) are required
  • A minimum of 2 years teaching experience is required; preferably at the graduate level
  • Online teaching experience highly preferred
  • Must have an active unencumbered RN nursing license (compact/multi-state licensure required)
  • Must have an active unencumbered APRN nursing license 
  • Must be board certified by ANCC or AACN as ACNP or AGACNP or AGPCNP or FNP or ADULT NP (additional NP certification highly preferred)
  • Must have subject matter expertise in the course of instruction
  • Faculty must have excellent communication, motivational, and instructional skills in a diverse and non-traditional environment
  • Proficient in using MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), WebEx/Teams (or similar platform) and Internet
  • Virtual Simulation experience desired

Additional Information

Chamberlain Visiting Professor Position - Online:
In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected compensation rate for this position is between $850/Earned Credit Hour to $1,950/Earned Credit Hour, depending on the candidate’s education and experience.

Actual pay may be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as type of course taught; experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
